**The Position**:
The Safety Coordinator, reporting to the Safety Manager, is responsible for training, overseeing and enforcing all safety practices in the workplace.
The compensation range for this position is 55K-60K per year, depending on experience.
This position works 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.

**Your Day-to-Day**:

- Maintains detailed knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, Food Safety requirements and how to use the aforementioned to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Coordinate, prioritize and direct programs to reduce injuries and accidents and drive a culture of safety.
- Continuously measure and evaluate the effectiveness of Barrett’s current safety program in meeting our goals.
- Lead meetings, daily huddles and communicate rationale for decisions or changes.
- Work with local work groups and behavioral practices that reduce injuries and accidents.
- Stays current on state and federal workplace safety regulations.
- Recommends ways to improve health and safety in the workplace.
- Maintain administrative control over all required safety documentation.
- Responds to on-site emergencies and investigates workplace injuries and accidents.
- Identifies and correct potential hazards before they lead to injury
- Conducts official audits of each building to ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Identify root causes of non-conformance and implement corrective actions.
- Other duties as assigned.

**What You'll Bring to the Table**:
High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Certifications and/or completed course work in OSHA regulatory compliance preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years related experience preferred.
Experience must demonstrate detailed knowledge of current OSHA standards and how they impact the workplace.
Experience work with Safety Committees and driving workplace involvement.
Working knowledge of warehouse operations and warehouse management systems.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).
Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and the ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
