Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. Your role will be crucial in maintaining an efficient supply chain and supporting the overall success of our organization. Duties: - Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize procurement processes - Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities - Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable agreements - Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and requirements - Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure smooth transportation and delivery of goods - Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to track inventory levels and manage purchase orders - Maintain accurate records of purchases, prices, and supplier information - Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new products to make informed purchasing decisions Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred - Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role - Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices - Proficient in using purchasing software systems (e.g., Edwards) - Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms - Solid understanding of logistics processes and ability to coordinate shipments effectively - Strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier performance and identify cost-saving opportunities - Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously We offer competitive compensation packages and opportunities for professional growth within our organization.
