Book Passage Corte Madera

Book Passage is a beloved community bookstore dedicated to providing an extensive selection of literature, fostering a love for reading, and delivering exceptional customer service. We pride ourselves on curating diverse collections and offering a welcoming environment for book lovers of all ages.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare outgoing shipments for delivery, including packaging, labeling, and arranging pickup or drop-off with shipping carriers.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments using computerized systems and manual logs.
- Collaborate with other team members to resolve any shipping or inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Manage shipping supplies.
- Keep shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Manage publisher returns maintaining records of returns using proprietary software.
- Manage creating pallets of returns and communicating with freight companies.
- Deliver cases of books to events in Marin and San Francisco.
- Set up and breakdown in store events.
- Provide courteous and helpful assistance to staff and customers, answering inquiries about shipping options, delivery times, and return policies.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or retail operations is a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or bookstore environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and track inventory.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency with computer software and systems for inventory management and returns processing, including UPS Worldship, Dazzle, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Physical stamina and ability to repetitively lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
