We’re looking for a Director of Engineering to join our Ads & Monetization Engineering organization and lead our Formats/Experience teams. The Ads & Monetization organization is responsible for Snap’s revenue platform which maximizes monetization opportunities for Snap customers across the service. As the engineering leader for these teams you will help solve complex technical problems to create world class experiences for over 400 million daily users on our platform. To effectively deliver on the high expectations of our users you will collaborate with your peers and partners in Engineering, Product Management, Marketing and Sales just to name a few. You will lead your teams who work from our offices in Seattle, WA, Palo Alto & Santa Monica, CA.- What you’ll do:
- Operate as a T-Shaped leader by leveraging front line details to inform decisions on operational efficiency for the Formats/Experiences teams-
- Develop organizational-level goals and drive the technical and organizational roadmap for the Engineering team-
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Product and Engineering teams distributed across multiple offices-
- Develop a highly productive team of exceptional software engineers and technical leaders-
- Influence key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions-
- Model Situational Adaptability by iterating quickly without compromising quality and raising the bar on operational excellence-
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience leading a large software engineering team at scale and managing with an eye to drive efficiency-
- Previous experience partnering with cross-functional executives and management across a globally distributed organization-
- Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments-
- Experience leading teams to develop digital ad delivery technology-
- Ability to quickly adapt & change engineering delivery to address changing market landscapes and internal priorities-
- Able to illustrate experience leveraging tactical detail to drive strategic initiatives-
- Deep knowledge of and experience working with a diverse group of engineers-
- Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience-
- 10+ years of software engineering experience-
- 5+ years of experience managing a software engineering team-
- Experience with Format & Surfaces technology-
- Experience with the Ad Delivery technology-
- Experience with Client Infrastructure-
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Sponsored Augmented Reality-
- Experience with mobile apps development-
