Job Title: Director of Engineering

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team in Woodland Hills, CA. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and growth within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of approximately 650 engineers across multiple disciplines.
  • Develop and implement engineering processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resources to ensure the team has the necessary tools and support to succeed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and growth within the organization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or related field, with 10+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 8+ years of experience.
  • 9+ years of technical experience in hardware, systems, software, or firmware engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated success in managing people and technical leadership roles.
  • Program management experience in profit and loss or integrated product teams.
  • Developed technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • High proficiency in oral and written communications.
  • Proficiency in typical office computer applications and modern tools for electrical, mechanical, and optical development activities.
  • Working familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and CMMI.
  • US Citizenship and active DoD Secret Clearance required, with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI and Special Access Clearance (SAP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical or management specialty.
  • Experience as a technical leader and visionary.
  • High proficiency in the design of electronic hardware designs for military customers and applications.
  • Working knowledge of Northrop Grumman procurement processes.

Salary Range: $190,600 - $286,000

Benefits: Northrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
