Washington, United States MILKEN INSTITUTE Full time

**Salary Range**:$120,000-$210,000

**About the Milken Institute**

The Milken Institute is a globally minded, publicly supported, non-partisan, and nonprofit think tank headquartered in Santa Monica, with offices in Washington, DC, New York, London, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore. For the past three decades, the Milken Institute has served as a catalyst for practical, scalable solutions to global challenges by connecting human, financial, and educational resources to those who need them. Guided by a conviction that the best ideas, under-resourced, cannot succeed, we conduct research and analysis and convene top experts, innovators, and influencers from different backgrounds and competing viewpoints. We leverage this expertise and insight to construct programs and policy initiatives. These activities are designed to help people build meaningful lives, in which they can experience health and well-being, pursue effective education and gainful employment, and access the resources required to create ever-expanding opportunities for themselves and their broader communities.

**About the Inclusive Capitalism Program**

The Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism (ICAP) is housed within the Institute’s MI Finance pillar, which conducts research and constructs programs designed to facilitate the smooth and efficient operation of financial markets and institutions—to help ensure that they are fair and available to those who need them when they need them.

ICAP seeks to create long-term value that benefits all stakeholders, including businesses, investors, employees, customers, governments, and communities; produce equitable, measurable, and sustainable growth that empowers others while addressing many of society’s needs; and enable stakeholders to participate in the capital markets to support both the end beneficiary and the bottom line.

One key feature of the ICAP Program is our focus on democratizing asset management, where we engage in a series of activities, such as: researching metrics and processes for tracking industry activities, outputs, and outcomes; exploring an Inclusive Capitalism “benchmark” of current industry standards around governance; and convening key stakeholders to ensure actionable steps are taken to improve industry hiring.

**About the Position**

The Director will lead various initiatives of the ICAP Program through the following activities:

- Developing and executing ICAP’s research and policy agendas, including collaborating internally and externally with thought leaders, policymakers, and practitioners;
- Leading the writing and research for published materials;
- Providing periodic written updates and summaries of research in defined policy areas;
- Playing lead and support roles in writing, researching, editing, and cite-checking ICAP publications and written outputs, including web content and white papers;
- Leading and supporting program priorities, including event creation, production, and development.
- Working with Business and Program Development to create, launch, and execute new program activities relevant to the Inclusive Capitalism mission
- Other duties as assigned.

- ** Roll-up-your-sleeves executers and adaptive thinkers**: Comfortable with engaging in new and nebulous projects. Comfortable with proposing an approach upfront while constantly refining along the way;
