MANAGER OF DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS

**TITLE**:Manager of Development Operations

**DEPARTMENT**: Development

**REPORTS TO**:Director of Development Operations

**STATUS**: Exempt

**Job Summary**:
The Manager of Development Operations is a member of the Development Department and is responsible for a variety of assigned tasks to support a comprehensive Development program and includes representing the organization at events, shows, and other donor focused meetings.

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Serve as a representative at various events and “shows” across the country to promote Judicial Watch to eventgoers as directed.
- Create and maintain a calendar of all department related travel, meetings, events, deadlines, etc. for coordination and planned strategy.
- Assist with donor “escalations” from donor call center as directed.
- Assist with Judicial Watch special events management.
- Assist with Judicial Watch vendors as directed.
- Assist with creating and updating stewardship documents and presentations for donor visits and events.
- Assist with Judicial Watch store products and marketing ideas.
- Assist with writing and documenting processes and procedures internally and with vendors.
- Assist with department strategic planning.
- Manages supplies, promotional products, and shipments to and from event locations.
- Assist streamlining processes and procedures to make department as effective as possible with constant changing landscapes.
- Research and assist in the execution of new fundraising ideas and concepts to expand the fundraising efforts.
- Serve as back-up with contacting monthly sustainer donors to update donor credit card information/renew support as directed.
- Serve as back-up for regular data-entry/updates duties as assigned to include coding responses in system for interest from surveys and other sources, list maintenance, etc.
- Serve as back up for gift entry of donations as needed and directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**SCOPE**:
Handles a variety of development functions across all fundraising programs as directed. Frequent interaction with Judicial Watch donors, prospects, and staff. Position functions in a fast-paced work environment with direct supervision provided by the Department Director of Development Operations. Occasional travel is required so must be able to independently travel and able to represent the organization at “shows” and major donor events. The manager would be responsible for setting up, manning, and taking down Judicial Watch booth and materials at shows. Must have a clear understanding of Judicial Watch’s mission and ability to convey strategy. This job encompasses many “hats” and a strong sense of knowing what needs to be prioritized and how to handle them properly is a must.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES**:
Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as creativity, good judgment, common sense, and follow-through required. Strong interpersonal skills necessary and must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills essential. Ability to work in a networked PC information and retrieval system required. Proven ability to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously, with the strong ability for attention to detail. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and familiarity with Windows PC environment required. Experience working with a database program desired. Self-motivated individual essential.
