Supervise the daily activities of a specified group of employees, ensuring that safety, quality, and production standards are met, as well as the needs of the department.

Organizational relationships:

- Directly supervises Production Department.
- Will work closely with sales, materials, quality and engineering functions to meet company goals and objectives.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Schedule labor effectively to maximize productivity.
- Plan parts and material needed for production needs.
- Accomplish material and labor production goals.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping requirements within your department.
- Train new and transferred employees.
- Coach, mentor, and discipline employees as necessary.
- Complete performance appraisals for all employees in the department.
- Review and approve employees’ work hours for payroll purposes.
- Ensures quality assurance process is being followed.

**Qualifications**:

- Fundamental use of various pneumatic and power tools. Must be familiar with the safe operation of various tools - drill, screw gun, sander, jig saw, etc.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel to include presenting information to individuals and small groups.
- Advanced problem solving and project management skills
- Ability to lead team members toward the achievement of company goals
- Lean/Six Sigma Certification
- Proficient PC skills including MS Office Suite, MAPICS and/or MRP
- Advanced time management skills
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly.
- Ability to implement and direct environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
- Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices.
- Good understanding of OSHA and EPA standards.

**Education and Experience**:

- 2 or 4 year degree preferred or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Five or more experience in supervision or leading teams.
