The Director, Patient & Site Engagement (PSE) is responsible for the development of the TA / DAS level engagement strategy. They are accountable for the development of the patient and site journey and for the development of differentiated strategies that reflect the totality of that journey and target a diverse audience of study participants, caregivers, and investigators. The PSE Director will lead a team of PSE managers to develop and deploy program and trial level strategies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop integrated patient and site engagement strategy at the Therapeutic Area and /or DAS level.
- Lead a team of PSE Managers with responsibility for the creation of strategies for program and trial-level engagement with patients and sites and execution of the TA / DAS level plan.
- Ensure cross functional / cross Delivery Unit alignment of strategies in support of the J&J IM portfolio.
- Develop the situational/environmental analysis with deep market and patient insights/needs (patient journey) in collaboration with Patient and Site Voice team, feasibility, Global Clinical Operations, and TA Partners
- Identify, build, and sustain opportunities to collaborate with prescribing community and the BGIA team to form partnerships with patient advocacy organizations, institutions, etc. to provide input to external communication strategies.
- Deepen knowledge and influence Janssen culture about clinical research in underrepresented communities and diverse investigators & build strategies to differentiate Janssen as the sponsor of choice.
- Lead program-wide global Advisory patient councils.
- Map out data sources and partner organizations/suppliers that will help address DEICT recruitment challenges.
- Support building data-based CRM tool tracking site engagement metrics.
- Attend congresses to understand PSE landscape within the indication / TA
- Mentor & support onboarding of new team members.
- Foster employee engagement, inclusion, and Credo Behaviors.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent is required, preferred areas of study include Life Sciences (Life Sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nursing, Pharmacy)
- Minimum of 10 years in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare or related industries is required.
- Requires clinical research operational knowledge and experience across multiple phases of studies (Phase I-IV); knowledge of GCP and a good understanding of the processes associated with study / site feasibility, study/project management, Clinical Trial Diversity Plans, clinical and regulatory operations.
- Experience in the following critical competencies is required: Analysis, Strategy Development & Execution, Customer & Market Knowledge, Medical Strategy, Digital Marketing Strategy & Execution.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and to understand and adapt to different cultures and markets where needed is required.
- Demonstrated competence for team leadership and / or people management is required.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including ability to persuade, negotiate, and moderate conflict is required.
- Strong presentation and communication skills is required.
- Travel up to 20% of the time, defined by business needs.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $157,000 - $271,400.

The anticipated base pay range for this position in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA is $193,000 to $312,110.
