**Description**:
The Arts and Cultural Heritage Division (ACHD) of M-NCPPC, is seeking a Countywide Arts Coordinator, Historic Rental Properties. Under direction, assists in the managing of the Division's Historic Rental Properties performing difficult facility management, historic preservation, maintenance and programming, involving considerable responsibility, complexity, and variety.

Monitors day-to-day operations and programs of all rental facilities. Provides a variety of programs (e.g., rentals, productions, exhibits) and operates facilities seven days per week: 8 to 15 hours per day, depending on rentals and programs. Supervises the operation of historic rental facilities to meet recreational needs of the County and develops revenue producing programs. Assists with planning, design, and construction of existing and new facilities. Investigates complaints and controversial matters.

The Countywide Arts Coordinator, Historic Rental Properties monitors the day-to-day operations of five historic rental properties. This position performs facility operational duties such as managing rental contracts; handling customer complaints; assist in developing rental guidelines and procedures for approval; marketing the historic rental properties, community programs and events; assist with budget development and monitoring the Historic Rental Properties budget; supervising activities and staff; manages general and major maintenance and the properties' CIP projects; works with local and state officials to facilitate and maintain historic preservation requirements; customer service; develop and maintain internal and external partnerships; and other related duties as assigned.

**Examples of Important Duties**:
Monitors the day-to-day operations of the Historic Rental Properties unit. Assists in defining goals and objectives; reviews and approves historic properties' major programs and projects. Conducts regular inspections, investigates accidents, fires, and crimes; complies with administrative procedures and improves management of the historic rental facilities. Coordinates new facilities. Works with planners, architects, and engineers to review land acquisitions, construction of new facilities, and remodeling of present facilities. Inspects construction work.

Hires, trains, and supervises four facility managers responsible for the routine management and operation of five rental facilities. Conducts regular meetings, performance evaluations and counseling of managers to facilitate open communication and information exchange as required in conformance with Commission policy. Initiates appropriate recognition and discipline of staff. Supports or initiates staff professional development opportunities. Approves time cards and personnel actions and assigns routine tasks and special projects.

Assists with management and preparation of the Division budget. Prepares the annual budget request and supporting documentation. Prepares, reviews, and approves the unit's purchase requisitions, check requests and contracts. Obtains bids and price quotes. Coordinates with other Commission departments, i.e., Legal, Finance, etc. Monitors revenues and expenditures in accordance with Commission policies and budgetary guidelines.

Supervises and ensures Historic Rental properties events and exhibits are of high quality. Advises Historic Rental Property managers on ways to solve technical problems, complies with administrative procedures and improves management of their facilities. Manages and supervises production of collateral material working with the Public Affairs and Community Engagement Division to meet deadlines and ensure high quality publications are created. Establishes and maintains consistent brand identification. Supervises maintenance of web updates and revisions.

Coordinates externally. Attends productions, exhibits and receptions. Meets with citizens, arts community, and business groups. Investigates complaints. Engages with Planning Board, Board of Education, and County Council to identify needs, plan programs, give reports, and answer questions about programs. Conducts research and surveys, reviews technical literature, conducts surveys, meets with vendors, exchanges information with other government agencies, and attends professional conferences to identify new programs, methods, and equipment which might be useful for the rental facilities.

**_Position requires regular travel between historic rental sites and other Commission properties. Weekend hours are required._**

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Recreation or any related field.
- Five (5) years professional experience in an appropriate discipline (e.g. music theatre, fine arts).
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total nine (9) years.
- Valid driver’s license, or the ability to acquire one, in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations. Driver’s licens
