Job Summary:

The Infrastructure Administrator position is responsible for the administration, monitoring, implementation, maintenance, and support of all IT infrastructure systems, including network, platforms, operating systems, printing, storage, server, data center, hardware/software and computer systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installs, configures, and maintains Windows servers. Troubleshoots and resolves hardware and software issues that may occur with any server related problems. Configures new servers for projects, installs and maintains application software, coordinates network connectivity, configures monitoring, backups, and secures the server and software.
  • Administers and supports Nutanix and VMware ESX infrastructures. Ensures the health of all Hosts and VMs in both infrastructures. Monitors systems for resource bottlenecks taking place in memory, CPU, disk, or the network. Maintains the Nutanix and VMware management server’s health and mitigates any errors or alerts. Monitors the health of the infrastructures and ensures routine backups are being run. Create, configure, and monitor VMs on both platforms.
  • Responsible for the administration and monitoring of the enterprise backup systems. Reviews the systems daily for system issues, backup failures, and validation of schedule backup completeness. Troubleshoots and mitigates backup failure and restores data from backups when requested and approved.
  • Administers, supports, and monitors MSAD and AAD. Monitors health of AD infrastructure globally. Create and delete new user accounts, security groups, and devices. Implements domain group policy to enforce organizational standards and software configurations across enterprise workstations and servers. Assists with Intune systems, Intune configurations/deployment and Intune security support and monitoring.
  • Provides enterprise storage infrastructure system management and support. This includes performance and capacity monitoring, performance monitoring, security management, snapshots, and volume cloning. Participates in storage infrastructure projects, including layout, planning, installations, configurations, and system upgrades. Creates, secures, and maintains shared folders using MSAD security groups.
  • Supports configuration management software and services used for security patching, software deployments, and workstation imaging/deployment. Monitors software update deployment groups and assists with patch analysis. Builds application deployment packages and scripts for deployment (Intune).
  • Perform various infrastructure administrative tasks to include router/firewall monitoring, switch management, IOS management, firmware upgrades, configuration, deployment, and implementation of network systems.
  • Resolves assigned support tickets and change requests. Works with Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to resolve workstation, connectivity, and accessibility issues. Escalates support tickets to third party vendors for infrastructure systems and serves as the primary point of contact through resolution. Assisting and operating in crisis situations involving complex hardware or software issues and aiding and resolving issues in a timely manner. Other tasks as necessary.
  • Provide documentation for all in-scope infrastructure systems, including diagrams, configuration standards, KPI, process, procedure, and IRP. Document, maintain and enforce department/company, infrastructure, and computer system policy.
  • Remotely troubleshoot and travel (monthly as needed) for infrastructure implementation, issues, and support.
  • Monthly reporting to supervisor, infrastructure team, including projects, metrics, etc.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer discipline or at least five-years’ experience working in a computer support/data center environment.
  • At least one certification in MCA, MCM, MCPD, CCNP, CCIE, CCSP, CCDP tracks is required. Preference for operational experience with VMWare ESXi, Nutanix, Nimble, Meraki and StoreOnce systems.
  • PowerShell experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of enterprise class servers, enterprise class storage, appliances, disaster recovery operations, client-side hardware, printers/copiers, WAN/VPN/LAN network operations, IOS and equipment, back-office responsibilities, and OnPrem/Hybrid M365 integration, systems and infrastructure.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to travel globally.
