Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia - principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Join us this summer to make a positive impact on the lives of our campers. For Summer 2024, KidsCollege@PVCC offers camps in at our Main Campus, in downtown Charlottesville, and in Fluvanna County.

Counselors will provide student supervision, support instructor needs, and assist with management of records.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Plans and leads enrichment activities and games during break and lunch times.
* Ensures safety and security of all students, including attention to all students' health and/or learning needs.
* Supervises safe sign-in/sign-out of students. Secures paperwork.
* Supports classroom student management and reinforce positive student behaviors.
* Communicates with instructors to ensure they have their necessary supplies and class packets and to answer any questions/concerns.
* Assists program leadership in contacting families with any student behavioral issues, drop-off/pick-up questions, and general questions/concerns.
* Organizes supplies and equipment set-up. Completes classroom set-up and clean-up on a daily basis.
* Maintains a positive, friendly, and professional approach with all communications and interactions with staff, instructors, parents, and students.
* Serves as a positive role model.
* Provides general administrative and program coordination assistance.
* Follows all college procedures.
* Completes other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Previous experience working with children in a group setting.
* Able to take initiative, work independently, and work well with others.
* Strong computer skills and familiarity with MS Office Programs and Google Docs.
* Ability to travel to all KidsCollege locations.
* High School Diploma.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Interest and/or experience in STEM and arts areas.
* Previous experience in leadership role with children in a group setting.
* Some college.
