**We are currently seeking a PT Hospice Volunteer Coordinator in the Hospice Austin area who shares our passion for providing dignified, compassionate end-of-life care.**

**Shift Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours a week. We are flexible on which days and times this person will work. Occasional weekends and/or evenings required.**

**The non-negotiables**:

- Bachelor's Degree preferred in Human Services, Speech, Public Relations, or related area
- Three to five years management experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year of experience supervising others to include: setting performance expectations, coaching, motivating, promoting collaboration and teamwork, managing change, providing performance feedback, delegating effectively, resolving conflicts, etc
- Possesses a sympathetic attitude toward caring for the hospice patient and demonstrates positive communication skills in interacting with all members of the hospice team
- Must have valid driver's license, good driving record, and current auto insurance

**What you will be doing**:

- Responsible for all aspects of the Silverado Hospice and Supportive Care Volunteer Program
- Recruit new and onboard volunteers for each of the hospice sites assigned
- Manage personal files for each volunteer
- Provide ongoing management, education, and training to each volunteer
- Ensure each Volunteer Program is complying with The Joint Commission Standards and CMS Condition of Participation
- Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives and meetings
- Ensure accurate documentation of volunteer activity and volunteer care plans are entered in the medical record
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings
- Achieve and/or maintain 4-5-star rating in the We Honor Veterans Program
- Maintain delivery of Silverado specialty programs such as Memory Catchers, Essential Oils, and Petal for Patients
- Coordinate volunteers to meet patient care and administrative needs

- This position is a Volunteer Coordinator position for a hospice and palliative care agency
- This position requires the ability to function independently. As it is a healthcare position caring for individuals with chronic and/or terminal illnesses, the environment can be mentally and emotionally stressful, and involves working with emotionally upset patients and family members
- This position requires the ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position It requires the ability to remain calm and level-headed in emergencies
