Communications Technology Services (CTS) Operations Volunteer

**Volunteer Summary**
The TechQuest: Empowering Future Innovators high school volunteer program will provide valuable learning opportunities and exposure to different areas of the technology industry as outlined below:

- Learn inventory and warehouse program area functions and operations; will learn how to identify areas of concern and develop plans for improvement.
- Learn how to coordinate the receiving of merchandise, unload material shipments, schedule, and coordinate deliveries.
- Learn the communication process with local customer orders pertaining to procurement and product availability; communicate with vendors as needed.
- Learn how to fill material stock requests to support Communications Technology Services (CTS) cabling services.
- Learn how to support employees and management with operational functions of the Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS) system.
- Learn how to define requirements and prepare scope of work for cabling projects.
- Learn how to prepare cost estimates for cabling projects.
- Shadows other programs as needed.

**Qualifications**

**Education**
- Must be a current high school student between the ages of 16 to 18.
- Must possess good standing high school academic records.

**Qualifications**
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cordial working relationships at all organizational levels, including agency management, direct supervisors, co-workers, internal and external customers.
- Ability to understand, follow and convey brief oral and/or written instructions.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to comply with all agency policy and applicable laws.
- Ability to comply with all applicable safety rules, regulations, and standards.

**Computer Skills**
- Proficiency in the use of a computer and applicable software necessary to perform work assignments e.g., word processing, spreadsheets (Microsoft Office preferred).

**Other Requirements**
- Regular and punctual attendance at the workplace.
- Criminal background check.
