Provide support to families with immigrant and English language learners to involve parents in the educational process and to ensure a smooth transition for students. Connect parents to community resources available for students. Provide in school support for new students to navigate the educational system.
- DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan parent involvement activities, in conjunction with campus principal and staff.
- Exercise good communication etiquette, develop rapport with parents, initiate parent contacts through phone, mail, and in person.
- Develop positive relationships between school and home to ensure student success.
- Maintain documentation of agendas, sign in sheets, and minutes for parent involvement meetings.
- Carry out parent education programs.
- Assist with parent conferences and parent communications with English to Spanish translations.
- Connect families to needed resources.
- Coordinate the revision of the parent involvement policy and parent compacts for the campus.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Regular attendance.

- EXPERIENCE:
- QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education/Certification**:

- High School Diploma or GED

**Special Knowledge/Skills**:

- Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- General computer knowledge
- General knowledge of school programs
- Ability to work with students and teachers effectively
- Bilingual in Spanish/English
