**Position Summary**

The Heavenly Vision Educational Center Director of Preschool and Early Education program assumes responsibility and the leadership of the Early Education Program. Directs staff and programming that promotes an inclusive early education environment. **Essential Functions**:

- The Assistant Director of HVEV works with the Program Director to serve and support the Early Education Program.
- The Assistant Director supports the Program Director in areas of staff performance, the operation of the preschool and related facilities; and establishing and maintaining a positive school climate for the learning, behavior, safety, health and welfare of students, staff and parents.
- The Assistant Director supports the Program Director in holding the educational vision for HVEC Early Educational Programs. Under the supervision of the Program Director the Assistant Program Director supports the Program Director instructional and administrative leadership for the HVEC Early Educational Programs.
- The Program Director/Assistant Director collaborates on educational efforts in alignment with the HVEC Vision and Mission while partnering with multiple agencies and educational partnerships dedicated to building effective educational programs and achieving equitable outcomes for our program.
- Assist program director to plan, execute, and coordinate a comprehensive parent education program that includes workshops, training, and meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

**Knowledge of**:

- State Preschool and Early Education policies, and practices.
- Special education eligibility and student assessment processes
- Current best practices in early childhood assessment and intervention
- Effective team building strategies and communication skills.
- Current effective practices in professional development
- Computer knowledge is not limited to Google Suite, word processing, spreadsheets and PowerPoint, Excel, AI.
- Professional development and adult learning strategies
- Ensures program compliance of Title 22, Title 5 and Education codes and all related codes of program.
- Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP).

**Ability**
- Exhibit the ability to articulate a vision of excellence for a school community and to create and maintain the support structures necessary to achieve the vision under challenging circumstances.
- Exercise mature judgment and initiative
- Demonstrate empathy with parents, students, and staff, while simultaneously enforcing rules equitably and maintaining the most effective learning environment possible throughout the preschool.
- Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with funding sources, administration, students, staff and parents

- Assist Program Director establish program operating policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Create clear and accurate written documents that articulate school vision, goals, and activities; communicate expectations and guidance for staff; and increase family engagement.
- Work effectively with staff and external partners to create and maintain a collaborative model with shared goals and outcomes

**Education**:

- Highschool Diploma required
- At least 24 ECE units Including core, 16 GE, 6 admin, 2 adult supervision (preferred) or willing to enroll in required classes
- Associate degree (AA) or Bachelor degree (BA/BS) preferred or willing to enroll in required classes

**Certificates**:

- Valid Clear California Site Supervisor/ Director Permit (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with infants & toddlers/preschoolers or serving vulnerable populations.
- Have experience and a commitment to meeting the needs of all students, including students with significant learning gaps and special education needs.

**Licenses and Other Requirements**:
Valid Class C California Driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and evidence of insurance is preferred

**Clearances**:

Obtain Live Scan (fingerprint clearance, DOJ, FBI) and must pass a criminal record background check in order to become associated with HVEC.
