Position Overview

Safeguard organizational assets through the implementation of safety protocols, inventory recovery efforts, and strategies aimed at minimizing theft both internally and externally.

Assist in the reduction of lost inventory, time, and resources, oversee surveillance systems, and collaborate with the district asset protection (AP) manager to execute and monitor AP strategies.

Identify, observe, and detain shoplifters and other individuals (internal or external) engaged in criminal activities that affect the organization. Uphold the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform undercover surveillance to identify internal and external losses within a retail environment.
  • Conduct investigations into internal and external incidents and communicate findings to relevant parties; detain individuals involved in unlawful activities.
  • Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures while fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Execute physical security assessments; provide recommendations to mitigate loss and enhance profitability.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and prepare documentation for criminal prosecution.
  • Identify and address conditions or behaviors that contribute to shrinkage, safety concerns, and profitability by auditing compliance and promoting AP awareness.
  • Act as a liaison within the district and division to identify and develop solutions to minimize waste.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on all AP-related activities.
  • Support the district asset protection manager (APM) in the execution of AP initiatives.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of AP strategies at the store level.
  • Assist the district APM with both external and internal investigations.
  • Provide testimony in court and labor hearings on behalf of the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Test the functionality of store AP equipment (EAS, Lane Hawk, CCTV, etc.) during store visits.
  • Travel to various locations within the division and maintain flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this role with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proven ability to maintain integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Capability to de-escalate confrontational situations.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in multi-store asset protection.
  • At least 1 year of experience in retail asset protection.
  • Operational knowledge of CCTV systems.
