**OVERVIEW**

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing and implementing growth strategies, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. This role leads business development and spearheads initiatives to expand the company's customer base, enter new markets, and form strategic partnerships.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (THIS IS NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE)**
- Upholds the Company’s commitment to an injury-free workplace; leads and models safe work practices
- Follows all safety rules and regulations as well as all company policies and procedures
- Works safely around machinery; observes and instructs others in proper equipment use; uses/wears all required PPE
- Ensures team members are provided a safe work environment and are knowledgeable of safe work practices and policies
- Conducts market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and potential growth areas
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with prospective clients, industry partners, and key stakeholders
- Provides regular reports and updates to senior management on business development activities, market trends, and pipeline status
- Maintains client contact from proposal delivery to project completion, ensuring all projects are delivered with a high level of customer satisfaction
- Represents the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to promote our brand, build relationships, and generate leads
- Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to align initiatives and ensure seamless execution
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements to enhance sales effectiveness and operational efficiency

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Deep understanding of the dredging market, strong industry connections, and a proven ability to identify and pursue new business
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving business growth
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, industry partners, and industry associations
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of an organization
- Highly analytical with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite.
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Must be able to successfully pass all pre-employment screening (drug test, fit test) in addition to random drug and alcohol testing
