Responsiblities

Being a Flagger/Traffic Controller involves a significant responsibility for ensuring road safety during various closures. This role entails mastering road closure techniques using cones and barricades, along with skillfully managing two-way flagging using stop & slow signs to guide traffic safely through work zones.

**Duties**:

- Direct traffic according to established traffic control plans and procedures
- Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades
- Communicate with drivers and pedestrians to provide instructions and ensure compliance with traffic regulations
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust control measures as needed
- Coordinate with construction crews and other personnel to maintain a safe work environment
- Report any incidents or safety hazards to supervisors or appropriate authorities
- Maintain accurate records of traffic control activities

**Experience**:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience:

- Previous experience in traffic control or related field preferred
- Familiarity with operating heavy equipment such as loaders, graders, backhoes, and dump trucks
- Knowledge of utility locating procedures and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and traffic control diagrams
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with drivers, pedestrians, and coworkers

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
