Project Management and Program Support:

- Review and process routine and out-of-cycle vaccine requests through vaccine management platform and submit orders to CDC for distribution
- Efficiently collect and analyze multiple streams of data to ensure distributed doses will cover needs of patient population while avoiding overstock and wastage
- Routinely undertake detailed review of provider site compliance measures to ensure publicly funded vaccine supply is stored, handled and administered safely
- Analyze material submitted by providers and update multiple databases with received information in timely manner
- Manage operational projects in both independent and collaborative settings
- Provide program support to operational objectives

External Collaboration:

- Develop, maintain and generate content for multiple regularly scheduled vaccine provider meetings.
- Host and manage meetings to ensure smooth, effective presentation of program requirements and updates
- Serve as technical assistance lead for vaccine management and order submission platform, responding directly to user inquiries and requests for assistance, including one-on-one walkthroughs of platform
- Serve as program liaison with platform vendor to ensure product meets needs of stakeholders

Strategic Assistance:

- Provide input and recommendations about the effectiveness of program operations and collaborative effts.
- Assist with strategic planning for immunization activites and stakeholder engagements.

Internal Communication and Collaboration:

- Serve as a resource for internal groups and staff regarding program operations, requirements, objectives and platforms used
- Prepare correspondence, memoranda, reports and supplementary material as needed and provide support for departmental activities.
- Coordinate meetings as assigned with key individuals and organizations to promote stakeholder engagement, collaboration and program reach and accessibility.

Supervisory Controls

Work under the direct supervision of the manager who outlines assignments and priorities. The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment in completing assignments. The incumbent consult with the assigned manager on matters having major office, administration, departmental or

operational impact. Work is reviewed through measured achievements of assigned performance goals and objectives, adherence to governing directives, policies, procedures.

GUIDELINES

Guidelines of the position include, but are not limited to, written departmental policies, procedures and

protocols established by the CDC and DC Health, the provisions of grants and contracts or provider agreements between the District and community-based service providers, Federal and District laws and regulations. Independent judgment is used to interpret and determine the most appropriate guide. However, the incumbent may make adaptations to cover new and unusual situations.

COMPLEXITY

The work involves planning, developing, and implementing systems to evaluate the appropriateness, adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of the DC Vaccines For Children Program. The performance of tasks requires the incumbent to use initiative, creativity, resourcefulness, and independent judgment and discretion in setting priorities, developing work objectives, and collaboration with outside agencies, independent organizations, advocacy groups, the medical community, and the public.

Frequent contacts are with managers, program staff, and administrators in the agency, external clinical stakeholders and other local and administrative agencies in surrounding areas.

PURPOSE OF CONTACTS

The purpose of these contacts is to provide reports, exchange and clarify information, resolve problems, and provide program advice and services.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is primarily sedentary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in the office, remotely and sometimes in the community wherein the work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The tour of duty for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:45 pm (flexibility is available in final determination of work hours). The performance period will be from the date of award through December 31, 2024 (there may be an opportunity to continue services past the end of the year if funding allows).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Individuals must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 9 level.

Specialized experience is experience that is directly related to the position which has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skill, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position,

including conducting studies and performing other analytical work related to the planning, development, organization, administration, evaluation, and delivery of public health programs; or similar work experience in the public health field.
