For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. We deliver and coordinate a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of our communities.

**JOB SUMMARY**
Greets hospital visitors, patients and vendors at the Information and Guest Services Desk. Provides assistance and directions to anyone requiring such. Receives, advises and directs all persons requiring information pertinent to the Hospital, patients and personnel. Assists with patient transport. Strictly abides by resort/hospitality and Hospital Customer Service Initiative standards. Maintains confidentiality of all patient and hospital information at all times.

**Qualifications**

**Education**: Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

**Experience**: At least one (1) year of experience in reception, resort hotel, hospitality and/or public relations is required. Three (3) years reception experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**

**PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING**
Ability to react and perform under strict timelines and/or emergency situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Requires the ability to exercise discretion and use good judgment to perform duties promptly and consistently with little discretion.
