**The Position**:

The Public Works Department provides for the construction, maintenance, and improvement of infrastructure, right-of-way services, and asset management within the County and the Flood Control District. Public Works maintains 660 miles of roads and 150 miles of streams; channels and other drainage facilities as well as maintains 200+ county buildings.

The Real Estate Division is part of the Public Works Department. It is responsible for the Right of Way services for acquisition of real property for public improvement projects, as well as for the leasing administration of the County owned and leased portfolio to provide County services to the community. The Real Estate Division is currently seeking skilled Associate Real Property Agents. This role is the full journey level of the Real Property Series and has responsibility for tasks related to real property or leasing projects across the county.

The Public Works Department consists of a great group of people dedicated to the County and community they serve. There are many very creative, conscientious, and skilled individuals employed and involved with the projects they deliver. Public Works is a larger well-structured and organized department with staff driven to value, appreciate, and connect with each other.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**Education**:Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public or Business Administration or a closely related field and, at least **five (5)** completed courses from a recognized Real Estate Organization such as: International Right a Way Association (IRWA), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), or American Society of Appraisers (ASA), Appraisal Institute or Caltrans Academy; or, at least 5 completed real estate courses from an accredited college or university.

No substitution for the required **five** (5) courses from a recognized Real Estate Organization or an accredited college or university.

**Substitution for Education**:Additional-qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two years.

**Experience**:Three (3) years of full-time experience, or its equivalent,
