SUMMARY:
The Community Health Aide Program
- Tribal Assessment and Planning (CHAP-TAP) program aims to assess the needs of implementing a community health aide program within Indian Health Council, Inc. The project coordinator will coordinate with other departments to present information on community health aide programs. The project coordinator will develop surveys and conduct focus groups with staff, community members and key stakeholders. Project coordinator will run reports and perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis utilizing Qualtrics and Atlas.ti programs. Project coordinator will lead project team to conduct organizational needs assessment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The information in this job description indicates the general nature and level of work performed. 1. Responsible for day-to-day oversight and management of all aspects of the research project in accordance with established RSD department protocols.

2. Implement, train employees, and monitor compliance with department policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Contribute information to continuous quality improvement initiatives (CQI) activities.

3. Supervise and coordinate the work of subordinate employees, by establishing work schedules, creating assignments, setting priorities and monitoring productivity, and time and attendance. Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing coverage in accordance with minimum staffing plans.

4. Develop and communicate individual goals for subordinate employees, monitor and evaluate employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques. Identify employee development and training needs and ensure training is obtained. Make recommendations for personnel actions.

5. Develop surveys in designated software systems and maintain data dictionaries. Maintain study-related databases and prepare protocol-related reports.

6. Monitor project timelines, ensure project progress, and assist the PI in monitoring project developments. Implement changes as necessary under the direction of the PI.

7. Design and implement data collection tools and quality control measures to ensure accurate collection and processing of data.

8. Coordinate and administer qualitative and quantitative interviews. Assist with the collection, management and analysis of interview data.

9. Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and data integrity of patient information.

10. Prepare progress reports for assigned project(s) as required.

11. Assist in the development and submittal of research protocols and study materials to local and partner Institutional Review Boards (IRBs).

12. Assist with writing scientific papers and manuscripts.

13. Monitor project activities and ensure they are within approved budgets. Purchase and manage project supplies and incentives following project budgets and goals.

14. Facilitate culturally relevant outreach activities in various community settings. This may include after hours or weekend events.

15. Develop and conduct educational presentations for a variety of audiences.

16. Position may be re-assigned during activation of EOP.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages one or more subordinate employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring under consult with RSD Director and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study required; Masters Preferred.
- Will consider applicants with Associate’s Degree combined with 2 years of Tribal Community research experience and currently continuing education.
- 6 months to 1 year of research and/or grant project coordination experience required.
- Must have project development, public health, and leadership experience.
- Community based participatory research experience in tribal communities is highly preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
