Job Summary:
The Career Liaison provides direct services to the NEIU community, ensuring that services are student-focused, informed by the needs of first-generation and underrepresented student populations, and are responsive to the needs of our academic partners. Actively participates in developing and providing information, outreach and training sessions to students, employers and external stakeholders. Meets one-on-one with students and alumni to provide career coaching. The Career Liaison will serve as a liaison between the Career Development office for one of the University’s three colleges and will provide specialized programming in coordination with the department chairs and faculty members.

The Career Liaison also acts as a representative for the department in building partnerships between the University and external agencies. Develops, coordinates and implements Career Services assessment initiatives. Provides logístical support for job fairs, informational sessions, and employer visits. Participates in the development, marketing and dissemination of career resources at all NEIU locations.

**Job Description**:
Meet one-on-one with students for career coaching, including providing guidance on choice of major and career, resume preparation, job search strategies, identifying internships and job possibilities, interview skills, Power Closet, etc. Serve as a liaison to one of the University’s colleges for undergraduate and graduate students and alumni, ensuring that Career Development’s programming is delivered. Provide seamless support to students in all colleges. Collaborate with faculty to provide career development activities that align with the academic partner’s needs, including classroom presentations on career development topics. Due to student and class schedules, the Career Liaison will work one evening per week.

Advise and assist in the continuing development, effectiveness, and visibility of the department, including developing policies, departmental objectives, and long-range planning. Provide leadership and logístical support for job fairs, informational sessions, and employer visit tables. Represents department and NEIU in building partnerships between the university and external agencies

Manage special projects, including marketing, student engagement, and volunteer supervision.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimal Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree. A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.) Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.

Departmental Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of experience in Career Development, Human Resources, or recruiting.

**Salary**: $55,000

Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision benefits, generous time off plans, and participation in the State Universities Retirement System.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Hours may vary depending on departmental needs)
