**Job Title**: Purchasing Specialist

**Department**:Purchasing and Inventory

**Reports To**: Operations Manager

**FLSA Status**: Exempt

**Hours**: M-F, 7:30am to 4pm, NO holidays or weekends

***: Manages inventories and oversees purchasing for all warehouses and customer orders.

Interacts daily with personnel on-site and at remote shipping locations, as well as the teams at the Customer Care Center, Sales Team and the Corporate Office.

**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, AUTHORITIES AND EXPECTATIONS**:

- Responsible for entering purchase orders for items needing to be ordered into SAGE100.
- Leverage bulk/quantity purchasing, when applicable, while maintaining targeted inventory turns by location.
- Order all standard stock items, backordered items, and not-in-stock items (except capital equipment, services, and commissions).
- Run re-order reports for all T.E.D. warehouses. Adjust and maintain order points.
- Work with vendors on overages, shortages, and damages to film, chemistry and other nondestructive testing equipment and materials.
- Responsible for contributing to building and maintaining employee, customer, and vendor relationships. Assist Accounting with film invoicing issues.
- Cross-trained with other team members to provide back-up when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- **KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**:

- Ability to learn and retain knowledge of TED products. Excellent oral/written communication skills. Knowledge of MS Office 2000/Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel), SAGE100 experience preferred. Excellent phone etiquette. Ability to multi-task. Customer service driven, teamwork-oriented, professional, upbeat, energetic, takes initiative, dependable, takes pride in work. Detail-oriented

- ** EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**: Highschool Diploma or G.E.D. Minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred.
- ** LANGUAGE SKILLS**: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, purchase orders and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- ** MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
