- Under the general direction of the Research Manager III, Research and Statistics Section, of the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration's (CDTFA) Financial Management Division, the Research Data Specialist I performs various analytical studies and statistical work. Chief among these tasks includes data extraction, validation, and visualization using tools such as PowerBI. The position also helps maintain and update Research and Statisctics' data visualization platform on CDTFA's website. In addition, the Research Data Specialist I prepares statistical tables for scheduled reports, estimates tax revenues from CDTFA's 37 tax programs, and conducts revenue estimates for legislative proposals.
