The Research Data Supervisor I (RDS l) plans, organizes, and directs the research, data collection and analysis, and data reporting activities for all programs in the Children, Adolescents and Young Adult Services (CAYAS) Division. The position provides data support for the monitoring, training, and technical assistance to regional centers (RCs), local educational agencies (LEAs), and other community-based service providers in implementing the early intervention program under Part C of the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education (IDEA), also known as Early Start in California and for CAYAS projects and tasks related to transitions for children and youth. The RDS I develops effective displays and interpretation of data; and presents recommendations, findings, and reports to DDS management; and oversees the development of regular and ad hoc analytic products to inform policy, improve transparency and understanding of CAYAS programs. The RDS I functions as a working supervisor responsible for a small group of analysts performing journey level work and personally performs the most difficult or sensitive work.

- The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
