The USTA Southern California Development Director position is responsible for generating and managing a portfolio of supporters, donors, and grant revenue to advance the mission of the SCTA. As a key member of the organization, the Development Director will identify, contact, and develop relationships with individuals, foundations, and major gift donors to invite their engagement, support, and charitable gifts. The target revenue goal is $500K-$750K in the first year, with increases annually to achieve at least $3M in annual revenue by 2027. The Director manages all grant fundraising activities, maintains the CRM donor database, and manages grants throughout their life cycle.

This is a full-time exempt position reporting to the CEO and will have a base salary of $80,000 plus an annual bonus plan that is tied to achieving revenue goals. Revenue goals will be reset annually. A bonus plan for multi-year grants or donations will be set based on the individual grant/donation parameters.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Create and execute fundraising strategies.
- Responsible for 30-40 solicitations (grants/major donors) annually of $15,000 or more to achieve or exceed revenue goals.
- Develop and execute plans for prospect identification, cultivation, and management.
- Develop and implement donor stewardship activities and reporting structure.
- Achieve first year revenue goal of $500K-$750K.
- Prepare proposals for major contributors.
- Works closely and collaboratively with the Hall of Fame committee and CEO to develop a fundraising event for 2025’s inductees.
- Plan and execute annual fundraising events, outside of the Hall of Fame.
- Manage and monitor grant fundraising activities, including maintaining a portfolio in a CRM database.
- Work closely with designated outside consultants.
- This position requires travel within Southern California. A valid driver’s license, personal car and auto insurance required.

**EXPERIENCE**
- 5-10 years of experience soliciting donors for nonprofit organizations.
- 3-4 years of grant cultivation/solicitation experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- Experience in donor and grant software programs, including CRM, donor and grant life cycle management, and Microsoft 365.
- Well-established existing relationships with major donors and donor prospects.
- Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of management, donors and backgrounds with professionalism, sensitivity, and integrity.
