Based in New Haven, EMERGE Connecticut is a nonprofit social enterprise committed to assisting formerly incarcerated people ages 18 and older to successfully integrate back into their families and communities statewide. We work alongside people returning home as they seek a supportive and healthy transition from incarceration through paid employment, training, peer-mentorship, coaching, tutoring, and other trauma-informed services. EMERGE’s reentry model has proven successful in New Haven since July 2011 where just 11% of EMERGE crewmembers returned to prison on a new conviction within two years of their enrollment—in contrast to over one-third of people nationwide (BOJ, 2021).

**Job DESCRIPTION**

The Bridgeport Site Director will join a dynamic leadership team bringing EMERGE Connecticut into a new phase of growth to replicate a second site in Connecticut. Working closely with the Executive Director and Director of Organizational Development, this role is responsible for partnering in executing expansion plans, such as managing and training Bridgeport staff, coordinating EMERGE’s flagship program and social enterprise model, building sustainable local partnerships, developing funders and donors, and assisting with grant reporting specific to the Bridgeport site. A successful Bridgeport Site Director will meet quarterly expansion goals, bring in mission-aligned partners, honor the successful EMERGE model, and communicate roadblocks early to EMERGE’s leadership team.
- Lived experience and/or self-reflective understanding of unequal impact of prisons and policing
- Extensive trauma-informed program or case management experience
- 3+ years nonprofit management experience
- Familiarity with private and public grantmaking processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent project management and budget management skills
- Been affirmed by others as an active listener and/or proactive communicator
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred

**Duties**
- Commit to EMERGE’s model and facilitate the ongoing learning of Bridgeport staff into the model
- Manage Bridgeport site operations, finances, and programs to deliver uninterrupted services to participants
- Hire and onboard core Bridgeport staff, in conjunction with Dir. of Org Dev.
- Facilitate professional development and continuous learning of Bridgeport staff, in conjunction with Dir. of Org. Dev.
- Provide Executive Director with regular insight into Bridgeport operations, partnerships, and challenges
- Support Executive Director in aligning expansion partners’ and EMERGE’s goals and timelines
- Develop regional, state, and federal grant opportunities and private funders, in conjunction with Executive Director and Dir. of Org. Dev.
- Complete site-specific grant proposals and budgets, review progress and coordinate staff around deliverables, and report on grants in a timely manner, in conjunction with Dir. of Org. Dev.
- Support with seasonal donor appeals, in conjunction with Executive Director and Dir. of Org. Dev
- Name challenges in Bridgeport expansion, staff development, or program delivery to Executive Director and Dir. of Org. Dev.
- Utilize donor and case management database, with possibility of growing into database administration per skill and interest
- Attend and facilitate expansion-related meetings as needed
- Adhere to COVID-19 Safety Protocols and encourage adherence from participants

**Position details**

Title: Bridgeport Site Director
Annual Salary: $70,000

**Group Benefits**: EMERGE offers full-time employees a generous Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) provided at 8% of salary.

**Schedule**:Monday - Friday: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm (40 hours/week)

**Time Off**: 14 Paid Time Off (PTO) Days at the start of contract (non-accrual) and 14 Paid Holidays

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
