Coordinator of Accessibility Services

**Broad Function**:
Responsible for coordinating technology accommodations/testing for students with disabilities pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, the ADA Amendment Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and any other federal or state law that may apply. The position performs these functions in collaboration with Accessibility Services and reports to the Director of Accessibility Services.

**Major Responsibilities**:
Coordinate testing accommodations for students with disabilities. Work with faculty and students to support using assistive technologies, implementing digital accessibility and ensuring classroom accessibility.
- Coordinate testing accommodations for students with disabilities, with support from the College Services Associate
- Coordinate assistive technology, furniture and preferential seating accommodations
- Maintain equipment loan out program and act as the primary liaison for e-text, recording lecture software, and accessibility organizations
- Provide training to students, faculty and staff on accessibility conversion software
- Maintain expertise in digital accessibility software, best practices and associated legal concerns within the digital accessibility landscape
- Participate in professional development activities, program development, and serve on committees that impact services for students with disabilities, as assigned by the Director.
- Advocate for students and act as a resource with faculty/staff to provide students with mandated accommodations/academic adjustments.
- Provide referrals to appropriate on-campus and off-campus services and resources as needed.
- Participate in transitional programs/workshops for area high school and college professionals and service agency personnel, as assigned by the Director.
- Maintain effective customer service orientation towards all persons contacted during job performance.
- Willingness and flexibility to work evening and weekend hours, as assigned by the Director.
- Other duties as assigned by the President.

**Required Skills**:
Must have working knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to serving people with disabilities in a postsecondary education setting, including Section 504/ADA and experience with digital accessibility. Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Strong computer skills for using Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to learn new software. Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc. Ability to work comfortably with individuals with apparent and non-apparent disabilities.

**Educational Requirements**:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, or related field required. (Master’s degree preferred).

**Years of Experience**
3-5 years of experience working in a capacity in disability services. Must have interest in and working knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to serving people with disabilities in a postsecondary education setting, including Section 504/ADA.

**Salary**
A salary determination will be made at the time of the offer based on actual demonstrated years of experience in the exact position.
