What your day might look like:
  • Performs ongoing facility systems inspections and develops time and budget schedule for repair/replacement
  • Coordinates facility capital projects, including obtaining bids and monitoring outside contractor work.
  • Responds to, assesses and schedules immediate maintenance needs for BHSN locations in Warren and Washington counties.
  • Performs light carpentry, sheet rocking, painting, plumbing, electrical and other property maintenance duties as planned and/or required.
  • Coordinates and ensures compliance with all required preventative maintenance issues, including, but not limited to, HVAC systems, alarm systems, back flow testing, elevator, and boiler inspections.
  • Schedules and assists with facility maintenance inspections; recommends preventative maintenance.
  • Monitors outside vendors to ensure Buildings and grounds; lawn care/snow removal are performed on a timely regular basis.
  • Provides custodial and maintenance work as needed.
  • Supervises facility custodian and maintenance staff.
  • Other tasks, as necessary.
Your skills and qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5-7 years experience in a similar position, required
  • 2-4 supervisory experience, preferred
  • Ability to perform light carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical and HVAC monitoring essential
  • Ability to operate plow truck, sander, snow blowers, riding lawn mowers, push mowers
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Safety conscious
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Must be able to climb stairs/ladders
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to push, pull, stretch and bend to accomplish maintenance/cleaning tasks
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to perform tasks not specifically assigned when determined to be necessary
  • Valid NYS driver's license with driving record acceptable to BHSN insurance carrier
