**Duties**:

- Serve as the Director for the Center for Resilience within REFS. Provides leadership on resilience, environment, climate adaptation and food security. Analyzes and executes strategies. Coordinates Agency and USG solutions to development challenges.
- Leads resilience and climate adaptation efforts for the Bureau, coordinating with other Agency experts. Manages technical expertise and communications to support USAID’s resilience programs globally.
- Serves as a senior expert, providing thought leadership and coordinating resilience work and climate adaptation for USAID/REFS. Acts as liaison with other Bureaus.
- Serves in a supervisory role in the organization with management oversight of the Center for Resilience to elevate and spearhead resilience and climate adaptation for the Agency and for the REFS Bureau.

**Qualifications**:
**Specialized Experience**:
GS-15: You must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or higher. Specialized experience for this position includes**: (a) Experience providing strategic planning, management, and advisory services for a broad spectrum of international resilience program operations across an organization; (b) Supervising a team of experts and professionals to ensure successful implementation of initiatives that promote an organization's resilience and climate adaptation goals; (c) Utilizing data analysis and feedback to continuously improve messaging and develop communications strategies around impact of international resilience programs; (d) Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, such as international partner organizations, and key influencers, to manage strategies and programs, foster relationships, and effectively communicate information about organizational objectives and achievements.**

Given the technical nature of this senior position, experience working for a civilian agency or organization on international development or humanitarian communications is critical.
**Do you have prior experience leading international resilience and/or climate adaptation programming and strategies for a civilian organization working on international development or international humanitarian issues**.
