**Reports to**: CEO

The Executive Director (ED) leads and manages the operations, finances, programs, staff, and volunteers for the existing three Alive Centers in Naperville, Aurora and Hanover Park. In addition, the ED drives strategic planning, fundraising, and stakeholder relationships to achieve the organization's mission and goals. This seasoned leader will not only understand current trends in youth development but will also have experience in raising nonprofit funds, experience in hiring and managing staff as well as the ability to build relationships with local community groups. Above all, the ED should be highly effective in a leadership role that requires clear communication skills and decisiveness. Looking for a minimum of a 5 year commitment. Goal is to become the CEO in 1 to 3 years.

**Objectives of this role**
- To maintain high quality Alive Center teen programs, addressing the evolving needs of teens in the local community
- To maximize the participation rate of teens at the Centers, for teen drop-in as well teen leadership engagement To maintain at least two plus months of expenses in the bank
- To be an active participant and collaborator in all Alive Center communities
- Identify and address staffing requirements for efficient operations, and maintain a strong work culture that attracts and retains people while driving the organization’s mission
- Increase awareness of the organization by being the main spokesperson and liaison with local media
- To ensure proper fundraising to cover continued growth

**Responsibilities**
- Oversee daily operations of the organization, providing executive direction for program strategies and efficiencies, compliance, and quality assurance
- Work closely with the CEO to assess and address issues affecting the organization
- Drive all key development campaigns with the CEO until a development lead is brought on (might be a year)
- Create business plans for achieving goals and objectives set in collaboration with board of directors
- Meet aggressive annual fundraising goals by securing financial support from foundations, corporations, individual donors, and government funding sources.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community, foundations, government leaders and stakeholders.
- Work with staff and board on annual fundraising benefits and additional events, and oversee all external communications, including website, marketing collateral, newsletters, and social media
- Serve as the face of the organization and participate in external events to increase visibility, credibility, and market brand, and develop strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness and expand programs
- Build and lead an effective team that’s dedicated to fulfilling the organization’s mission through highly successful programs, community engagement, and fundraising
- Foster a culture in keeping with Alive values and principles.
- Manage staff members and clients whose experiences, cultures, and languages reflect the community served by the organization
- Develop an actionable plan for fundraising and managing monthly cash flow

**Required skills and qualifications**
- Seven or more years of experience in senior management, preferably with nonprofit organizations
- Strong leadership and management experience
- Strong experience in public relations, marketing, and fundraising
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with an innovative approach to business planning
- Dynamic and charismatic team player who enjoys being the public face of an organization
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, with a positive mindset and solution orientation.

**Preferred skills and qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, human resources, or finance
- Experience in managing budgets
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
