**POSITION: Utility Billing Specialist II**

**POSITION NO: 6.131**

**DEPARTMENT: Finance**

**SALARY RANGE: $21.57 - $23.73 per hour**

This is responsible work specializing in utility billing customer service. The employee must be able to provide the public with information regarding policies, procedures, and rate structures and resolve difficult customer service problems using tact and courtesy. This position requires a high degree of independent judgment and an extensive working knowledge of the utility billing system.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Extensive knowledge of the policies and procedures regarding the utility billing and collection system.
- Knowledge of business English, spelling, and math; bookkeeping methods; and record keeping practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of the geographic area of Temple Terrace and its service area.
- Ability to work independently on complex and specialized tasks.
- Ability to analyze customer accounts and explain adjustments.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing.

**Training, Certification, and Experience**
- High school diploma or GED, preferably supplemented by coursework in business practice.
- Two years experience in bookkeeping or financial records maintenance.
- Billing experience required; Utility billing experience preferred.
- Or, an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

**Special Requirements**
- Valid Florida driver’s license.

The City of Temple Terrace is a drug-free workplace.

A pre-employment drug screen, criminal history background investigation, and a driver’s license verification may be conducted.
