Position Overview:
The Senior Financial Analyst-Accounting plays a crucial role in analyzing, manipulating, and reporting financial data to both internal and external stakeholders. This position is accountable for the integrity of the data processed, the outcomes of analyses, and the reports generated.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- CPA certification or a Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred, though relevant work experience may be considered.
- A minimum of five years of experience in Accounting and/or Budget/Decision Support, ideally within a multi-entity environment.
- At least two years of experience in the Healthcare sector is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and complex financial systems.
- Strong customer service orientation, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Solid critical thinking and organizational skills, with a strong foundation in accounting and financial analysis.
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Core Responsibilities:
- Represent the organization professionally at all times, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Adhere to all relevant state, federal, and local regulations, maintaining a commitment to ethical practices.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and standard practices diligently.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information related to patients, families, and colleagues.
- Utilize resources responsibly and promote the organization through community engagement.
- Engage in continuous professional development and share knowledge with peers.
- Participate in quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives as applicable.
Job Duties:
- Prepare and submit Medicare PIP reports.
- Develop financial forecasts, income statements, balance sheets, and financial ratios for program evaluation.
- Benchmark financial metrics against other healthcare providers on a local and national scale.
- Compile necessary data for annual Medicare cost reports, collaborating with various departments to meet deadlines.
- Organize and prepare information for Federal Forms 990 and 990PF, working with internal staff and external consultants.
- File additional reports for regulatory agencies, including Medicare cap reporting.
- Conduct variance analyses and undertake special projects as assigned.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and analyze assigned GL accounts.
- Assist in coordinating the annual audit and the preparation of audited financial statements.
- Calculate and submit quarterly debt covenant compliance to the bank.
- Perform other duties as required.
