**Training: Adelante and Mas Adelante Youth Curriculum *Paid Training* (July/August 2024).**

**Position Start Date: September 9th, 2024 - May 31st, 2025**

**Position Summary**:
The purpose of the Adelante & Mas Adelante Instructor position is to have a passionate and collaborative leader who will undertake a variety of administrative and instructional tasks to help excel LAUP’s mission and vision forward. This person will have the privilege of building strong relationships with students and the responsibility of leading the Adelante and Más Adelante youth program in Grand Haven High School. The ideal person is motivated, organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, resilient and relatable. This individual must also be comfortable working with diverse teams.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

The Adelante and Más Adelante Instructor leads and supports LAUP’s youth program and will report to the Director of Youth Programs & Advancement but will be overseen by LAUP's Case Manager. The position will require the instructor to lead a group of 8th-11th grade students in the Adelante program and a group of 12th grade students in the Más Adelante program founded in life skills, college and career readiness and Latino cultural enrichment and celebration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Instructor will lead with their own style and create an engaging and positive environment in which students are actively engaged in the learning process
- Instructor will teach LAUP Youth curriculum and lesson plans provided by LAUP's Case Manager
- Instructor will be punctual for all scheduled sessions. It is your responsibility to notify the Case Manager if unable to attend the classroom session due to sickness or for any reason
- Instructor will be expected to have basic Latino history knowledge and be willing to learn more as well
- Instructor will be required to keep accurate records (Update class roster, attendance, volunteer hours and other data points directed by Case Manager)
- Instructor will report to LAUP's Office Manager when program snacks or supplies are low
- Instructor will verify that students are completing curriculum and follow up with those who have missed sessions or need to make up work that's due, as well as bi
- weekly touch base meetings with Case Manager
- Instructor is expected to honor students and families with respect, honesty and dignity

**Requirements**:

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Bilingual or fluent in Spanish/English
- Reliable transportation

**Financial Summary and Agreement**

**Classification: Part Time Contracted (6-10 hours per week)**

**Reports to**:Director of Youth Programs & Advancement and Supervised/Overseen by Case Manager
**Salary**: ($20/hr)
**Schedule**: Adelante -(2 hours per week), Mas Adelante - (2 hours per week), Administrative & Program Work (2 hours or more per week)
**Review Process**:

- 90 day review, 6 month review and annual review. Continued biweekly check-ins with Case Manager and monthly check-ins with Director of Youth.

- LAUP is an at-will employer.
- This agreement is not a contract.
- All employees serve for the sole benefit of LAUP.
