**Work Schedule**:Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm (Hybrid)

**Travel Required**:25%

**Status**:Non-Exempt

**Job Summary**:
The Black Maternal and Infant Health Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating efforts to address disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes among Black communities. This position will involve developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and initiatives aimed at improving access to high-quality care, reducing inequities, and promoting positive health outcomes for Black mothers and infants.

- Plan and host culturally sensitive prenatal and postnatal care community programs that address the unique needs of Black mothers and infants, providing holistic support
- Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and implementation of program activities, including workshops, support groups, community events, and outreach initiatives.
- Develop and deliver culturally competent health education materials, campaigns, resources, and workshops tailored to the needs of Black mothers and infants.
- Conduct assessments to identify key barriers, challenges, and disparities affecting Black maternal and infant health outcomes, and use findings to inform program planning and decision-making.
- Collect, analyze, and report program data and outcomes to assess impact, track progress, and identify areas for improvement, ensuring accountability and transparency in program operations.
- Develop and maintain a system for tracking grant funding, expenditures, and reporting deadlines. Ensure compliance with grant requirements, including timely submission of progress reports, financial statements, and other documentation.
- Foster and maintain relationships with community organizations, faith-based institutions, project grantors, and other stakeholders
- Advocate for policies and practices that address structural inequities, racism, and systemic barriers contributing to Black maternal and infant health disparities, and engage in efforts to promote policy change and social justice.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to leverage resources, expertise, and networks in support of program goals and objectives, fostering a collective approach to advancing Black maternal and infant health equity.

**Required education and experience.**
- Bachelor’s Degree in public health, social work, public policy, community health, or a related field required
- 2-3 years of experience in program coordination and planning, particularly in educational workshop facilitation, community engagement, and training delivery required.
- 1-2 years of experience working within a non-profit organization preferred.
- Knowledge of Black maternal and infant health issues, reproductive justice, racial equity principles, health equity, and social justice.
- Reliable transportation is a must.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Experience with digital communication tools (Google Suite, Canva, social media platforms)
- Competency in event planning and execution.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders and collaborate across sectors.
- Team-oriented with strong skills in team building and collaboration, capable of harnessing team resources effectively and adapting to new ideas.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and drive projects forward.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Experience in grant tracking, managing grant budgets, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
- Experience with grant writing, fundraising, and resource mobilization preferred

**Work Environment**
- Consistently works in outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
- The noise level in the office or at community events may be loud at times.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Occasionally moves boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across the office for various needs.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
