**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Supervise and participate in the custodial duties of Zoological Park Attendant duties.
Inspect work performance of Zoological Park Attendants.
Assist in maintaining areas other than those assigned as conditions may require.
Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and prepare purchase requisitions.
Prepare and oversee schedule and routines for attendant staff.
Perform mail/supply run to the Bronx Zoo regularly and as requested.
Assist in the movement of Zoo equipment, supplies and refuse.
Supervise subordinate, seasonal employees.
Participate in pest control programs if licensed (see differential opportunity)
Offer aid, help, directions, and provide information to the public.
Enforce the Society visitors' rules and regulations and those of the Department of Parks of the City of New York.
Perform related tasks and duties as required.

Qualification Requirements

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:
Ability to represent WCS in a professional manner and to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with employees, colleagues, City and other government agencies, outside contractors, and the general public.
Valid Driver's License (required)
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of three year's experience in custodial/maintenance work environment with some supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position requires outdoor work in all weather conditions. Tasks require manual dexterity and ability to safely use tools (e.g. drill, wire cutters, computer keyboard) and operate equipment (e.g. vacuum cleaners, pressure washer and related custodial equipment). Some tasks require climbing, kneeling, bending, navigating uneven terrain, and moderate lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, evenings and special events as the schedule demands.
