ReadyCT is a statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to advance academic excellence and career-connected learning for all public school students in Connecticut through collaboration with business, civic, and education leaders. **What We’re Looking For**:
Reporting to the director of career pathways at ReadyCT, the program manager for Allied Health (AH) works closely with our partner school, Hartford Public High School (HPHS), the Hartford Public Schools district, and the grantor (Hartford HealthCare) to advance all aspects of the National Academy Foundation (NAF) learning model. The program manager is also responsible for working with corporate partners, community organizations, school staff, and district staff to develop, implement, and assess programs and projects at HPHS that help raise academic achievement and career aspirations, especially in the areas of employability skills and career-connected learning, specifically for students enrolled in the AH pathway. The program manager also works to ensure that the AH pathway achieves and maintains full certification as a NAF academy.
**What You’ll Do**:
**Support the growth and effectiveness of the school-based Industry Advisory Board by**:
- Working closely with school administration and the appointed Industry Advisory Board (IAB) chair to advance the Allied Health career pathway and NAF program components in pursuit of full NAF certification (as applicable) for the pathway.
- Preparing IAB meeting agendas and materials for monthly meetings/meeting minutes, semi-annual summary reports, including NAF metrics (as appropriate) and student outcomes data, annual retreat sessions, and overseeing meeting logistics.
- Managing projects or initiatives involving IAB members and/or sub-committees.
- Collaborating with the IAB to identify labor market trends and identify industry-recognized credentials and certificates.
- Collaborating with school staff to integrate IAB members into relevant school programming/coursework.
**Collaborate with corporate and community partners by**:
- Serving as contact person for business and community engagement, focusing on opportunities tied to the Allied Health pathway.
- Assisting corporate and community partners with program development for students, tracking and reporting key metrics of success and student outcomes on an ongoing basis.
- Ensuring communication with stakeholders to increase the number of paid internships for students in the Allied Health pathway.
**Collaborate with school staff by**:
- Establishing trust and rapport with teachers, school counselors, and administration.
- Serving as a liaison between corporate and community partner volunteers and the school staff to ensure well-coordinated tutoring and mentoring programs are implemented, expanded, and sustained throughout the school year.
- Facilitating the staff’s understanding and support of the IAB and the NAF (or related) model.
- Assisting with the development, implementation, and annual review of the pathway curriculum and course sequence, scheduled in consultation with the IAB and other industry professionals.
- Attending standing weekly check-ins with school-based staff, as needed.
**Collaborate with ReadyCT staff by**:
- Promoting programs and activities that complement other career pathway programs.
- Implementing various outreach, recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Taking part in a Greater Hartford career pathway community of practice and contributing to brainstorming and troubleshooting conversations that help increase student engagement and retention.
- Creating, recruiting and facilitating the Youth Employability Skills (YES) Academy during winter and/or spring breaks and pathway-specific summer programming, as applicable.
- Actively supporting the design and delivery of summer programming at the school and/or other summer programming hosted by ReadyCT.
