We are looking for a friendly and inviting Accounting Assistant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team. If you are interested in gaining experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation procedures, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help our Accounting firm run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.
The vast majority of our clients are latinx. It is preferred that you are able to speak, read, and write in Spanish.
**Responsibilities**
- Answer telephones
- Enter financial transactions into internal databases
- Check spreadsheets for accuracy
- Maintain digital and physical financial records
- Create and issue payroll checks
- Participate in quarterly and annual audits
- File sales tax reports
- Keep office neat and organized
- Anything else that might be needed in the office
**Skills**
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
- Familiarity with finance regulations
- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
- Organization skills
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
- Cool under pressure
- Be able to handle multiple projects at the same time
