**POSITION OVERVIEW FOR** **TRUNK LINE FIBER-OPTIC LEAD TECHNICIAN**

Agilitech has an excellent career opportunity for a Trunk Line Fiber-Optic Lead Technician. The Trunk Line Fiber-Optic Working Lead Technician is responsible for working and leading a team of technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber-optic trunk lines across various locations within the state. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, hands-on skills, and leadership abilities to ensure the successful execution of fiber-optic projects while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. This position is located in Los Angeles, CA.

**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR** **TRUNK LINE FIBER-OPTIC LEAD TECHNICIAN**

**Team Leadership and Supervision**:

- Work and supervise a team of fiber-optic technicians in the execution of project tasks, including cable installation, splicing, termination, and testing.
- Provides guidance, direction, and training to team members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Delegates responsibilities and tasks effectively, monitor progress, and provide feedback to optimize team performance and productivity.

**Installation and Maintenance**:

- Participates in the installation, splicing, termination, and testing of fiber-optic cables and related equipment according to project specifications and industry standards.
- Utilizes specialized tools and equipment to perform cable pulling, fusion splicing, connector termination, and optical power testing.
- Conducts quality control inspections and testing to verify the integrity and performance of installed fiber-optic infrastructure.

**Project Coordination and Documentation**:

- Assists in the coordination of project activities, including material procurement, equipment setup, and work scheduling, to ensure timely completion of tasks and project milestones.
- Maintains accurate records of project activities, including work logs, equipment inventory, and test results, to support project documentation and reporting requirements.
- Communicates effectively with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to provide updates on project progress, address any issues or concerns, and ensure alignment with project objectives.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Enforces safety protocols and procedures to promote a safe working environment for all team members and subcontractors.
- Conducts pre-job safety briefings, perform safety inspections, and address any safety hazards or concerns promptly.
- Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and company policies and procedures related to health, safety, and environmental protection.

**REQUIREMENTS** **FOR** **TRUNK LINE FIBER-OPTIC LEAD TECHNICIAN**
- High school diploma or equivalent education required; additional technical training or certifications in fiber optics or telecommunications preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fiber-optic installation, splicing, and maintenance, with demonstrated proficiency in cable pulling, fusion splicing, connector termination, and optical testing.
- Strong technical knowledge of fiber-optic technology, cable types, connectors, and testing equipment.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites within California as needed.

**TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS**

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
