Job Overview: We are looking for a Referral Coordinator to join our team who is an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented multitasker. The primary responsibility of the Referral Coordinator is to manage inbound new patient referrals and outbound referrals requested by providers and patients. The Referral Coordinator will work closely with medical staff, patients, and outside entities to ensure that new patients are scheduled and seen promptly, and once established, they are connected with outside care as needed. This position requires professional representation, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal clinical staff and outside healthcare entities. Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Overseeing incoming referrals and ensuring same-day (or, at the latest, next-day) coordination and scheduling process.
- Organizing up-to-date tracking of all incoming and outgoing referrals & ordered procedures. Submitting weekly reports to operations and development.
- Collecting pertinent documents for each referral necessary for the patient's provider and outside care.
- Promptly import and export necessary documentation into patient charts for initial visits and procedures, and as required by outside healthcare entities.
- Collaborate with scheduling, pre-authorization/insurance, and clinic teams.
- Communicate with patients regarding referral appointments and instructions, assisting when needed.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to ensure an accurate and timely referral process.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality

**Skills**:

- Previous experience as a referral coordinator. Related healthcare marketing backgrounds are considered, too. Insight and suggestions are welcome by management.
- Enthusiastic personality and motivated to excel and grow within the physician-owned practice.
- Professional and positive customer service and phone skills.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and procedures
- Ability to function independently.
- Familiarity with medical coding systems, such as ICD-9
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Spanish speaking is a bonus.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
