**Job Duties**:

- Performs day-to-day assigned maintenance activities to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Reads, understands, and follows Standard Operating Procedures and Preventive Maintenance Procedures.
- Evaluates and adjusts machinery for changes in materials, environment conditions, and operational error.
- Attends company provided technical and vendor training, in-house and off-site, during business hours.
- Duly notes issues in the daily logbook and if work is more comprehensive, fills out work order. This also covers rounds, readings, and water testing on steam generator
- Observes functionality of installed equipment and systems to detect mechanical, electrical, or operational hazards to determine the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Troubleshoots machine center and operational problems by diagnosing if problem is mechanical, electrical, and operational or raw material related.
- Trains operators on correct procedures relative to equipment maintenance
- Maintain a clean shop area including tool carts. Adhere to company GMPs. This includes cleaning the shop area before the end of your shift without fail. Housekeeping is a part of this job.
- Performs daily job tasks against standard work to continuously improve process
- Daily documentation is a must and all paperwork to be completed before the end of shift.
- Must be able to work with little to no supervision.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
- Ensures proper operation of machinery and troubleshoots malfunctions of mechanical and electrical systems sometimes by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer's instructions.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using electrical test equipment and senses such as visual observation, and sense of smell.  Replaces damaged or broken equipment, wires and cables, using hand tools.
- Completes preventive maintenance on motors, conveyor systems, and production machinery. Including Unwires and wire backup 3 phase motors Determine excessive wear and ways to correct those issues. Notes any issues on the pm and fills out work request as needed.
- Locates problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and forms corrective action to problem following above guidelines.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Ability to properly assess and proactively predict the operational state of equipment, filters, oil, hydraulics, compressors, motors, pumps, plumbing and electrical systems and determine course of immediate and future action as needed to eliminate unscheduled downtime
- Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by practicing GMP and wearing appropriate company supplied PPEs, attending safety meetings/trainings, reading safety bulletins and memos, and being aware at all times of potential safety hazards in work areas.
- Lock-out tag-out procedures to be followed without deviation. Failure to do so can lead to immediate termination.
- Basic Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration a plus.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.
- Fabricates and repairs parts by using machine shop equipment. This includes all phases of welding with tig, mig and arc equipment. Cutting equipment such as plasma and oxygen/acetylene torches.
- Machining shafts, Keyways, and milling of parts as needed.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, placing, and expediting orders, verifying receipt.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Electrical troubleshooting skills including the use of multi-meters, and other testing equipment is necessary to this position.
