Key Responsibilities

Cleaning Duties:

  • Interior Maintenance: Responsible for cleaning all designated areas for the use of students, staff, and visitors. This includes performing laundry services for events and other janitorial tasks as needed.
  • Furniture Care: Ensure all furniture is cleaned and maintained, including rearranging for events.
  • Floor Care: Execute proper cleaning procedures for all interior flooring, utilizing various cleaning machinery.
  • Restroom Maintenance: Clean and restock public and private restrooms, addressing minor plumbing issues as necessary.
  • Waste Management: Efficiently manage waste disposal, ensuring all trash is removed and receptacles are maintained.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Maintain the cleanliness of exterior areas, including sidewalks and building entrances, while addressing pest control as needed.

Leadership and Communication:

  • Foster positive relationships with team members and the campus community.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to ensure clarity in tasks and responsibilities.
  • May serve as a mentor or trainer for a small group of custodial staff.

Administrative Duties:

  • Participate in mandatory training and meetings.
  • Safeguard keys and submit supply requests and work orders as needed.
  • Report any workplace accidents and follow safety protocols diligently.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of six months in a custodial role or related experience.
  • Must obtain necessary certifications for operating cleaning machinery within a specified timeframe.

Skills:

  • Ability to read and follow instructions in English.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Knowledge of custodial practices and safety procedures.
