Job Description and Duties

As a Hydroelectric Plant Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine and basic tasks on control, communication, electrical, and mechanical equipment in connection with the operation and maintenance of State Water Project generating/pumping plants, switchyards, water conveyance, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on control, communication, electrical, and mechanical equipment
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of hydroelectric generating/pumping plants, switchyards, water conveyance, and facilities
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to ensure efficient and safe plant operations
  • Conduct inspections and tests to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Document and report maintenance activities and equipment performance
Requirements:
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed
