**POSITION AVAILABLE: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR for plastic injection molding manufacturing plant. 3rd shift (11:00pm-7:30am)**

**JOB SUMMARY**: Directs the activities of hourly production staff on the assigned shift under the direction of the Plant Manager, responsible production on the assigned shift in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work.**Operations**:

- Directs operators with respect to production volume and quality.
- Confers with the Plant Manager and Scheduler to establish schedules for production.
- Recommends the hiring and releasing of production temps as required to maintain production schedule.
- In connection with other supervisors, establishes accountability and goals used for performance evaluation.

**Maintaining Employee Efficiency**:
- Interviewing, selecting and training employees; Appraising employee productivity and efficiency.
- Handling employee complaints and grievances; Coaching and counseling employees for performance.
- Planning and assigning work among employees.
- Collaborate with HR for workforce planning.
- Responsible for the management of temporary and temp to hire employees.
- Approve & maintain employee payroll/attendance records for both full-time and temporary employees on a weekly basis.

**Organization in Recordkeeping**:

- Arranges to have appropriate production records prepared and given to production control data entry.
- Keeps records of departmental activity as required.
- Assures efficient utilization of materials, improvement of methods and elimination of wasteful practices.
- Maintaining production or sales records as necessary.

**Otto Policies knowledge**:

- Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
- Maintains good employee relations and adherence to company policy.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Production or Plant Manager.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing documentation and reports.
- Ability to effectively present information to plant management.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Detail oriented and ability to lead others in working efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to respond to problems quickly, while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Self-motivated with the desire to succeed.
- Computer proficient: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Proficient math skills are required.
- Expert at solving problems with the ability to provide appropriate solutions; often on short notice.
- Positive team player with a can-do attitude
- Able to effectively create, lead, coach and motivate a team with positive outcomes in production performance, overall productivity, engaged employee morale, quality of products and safety of all employees.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Injection molding manufacturing experience preferred.
- 3 or more years’ supervisory experience in a production environment preferred.
