**SUPERVISOR FOR CUSTODIAL STAFF**
**Act 93 - Group 2**
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
- **All job functions are to be executed through the lens of high quality customer service. Customers are defined as both internal and external clients. Examples demonstrative of high quality service may include, but are not limited to, the following**:_

- Monitor the work of all second shift custodians, including full-time, part-time, and substitute staff assigned to respective buildings.
- Ensure the quality and quantity of work performed by custodial workers by monitoring their performance.
- Check through all building areas regularly to ensure that work is performed as scheduled
- Follow up and correct all complaints forwarded to the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.
- Provide on-the-job training as required and assist in presenting district custodial training seminars
- Work with night custodians on cleaning problems to improve their skills and efficiency.
- Communicate with the Director of Buildings and Grounds about the events and issues that occurred during the work night.
- Make minor repairs to the building and equipment. Report the need for extensive repairs to the supervisor of facilities or Director.
- Conduct monthly preventive maintenance checks on equipment as directed.
- Report any unsafe or unhealthy conditions promptly
- Be a conscientious energy conservation advocate.
- Maintain security for all buildings
- Encourage job safety among custodial staff.
- Secure supplies, tools, and equipment needed to perform assigned duties for all custodians from the central stockroom.
- Check and verify second shift custodial time sheets and attendance
- Ensure that wastepaper, plastic, and office papers are properly recycled
- Assist with the District's Energy Management Program.
- Supervise the setup of gym, auditorium, and cafeteria for sports activities in all buildings and building rentals
- Supervise and assist in special after-hour events taking place in the buildings
- Know the location of all fire extinguishers and be able to operate extinguishers
- Be familiar with fire evacuation plans in case of an emergency.
- Provide building coverage in case of scheduled leave or absence.
- Fill in as a substitute custodian when and where needed.
- Assist staff, employees, and visitors as necessary.
- Assist with deliveries and accept deliveries on behalf of the district.
- Supervise and perform summer cleaning duties.
- Assure all doors and windows are locked or otherwise secured when buildings are unoccupied and unlock doors for building use as directed by the supervisor or principal.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
**KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS**:
**Education**:High School Diploma
**Certification**:None
**Experience**:Experience in and working knowledge of building maintenance. Knowledge and experience with operating custodial equipment and custodial tools.
**Skills**:Effective oral and written communication skills, and effective use of technology required.

Salary Range: $39,500 to $59,200
Pay: $41,375.00 - $62,000.00 per year
