**Role Objective**:
The Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and accuracy of our construction projects and organization. They will be responsible for managing various accounting functions specific to the construction industry and Spruce Builders. The Accounting Specialist will report directly to the Project Accounting Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accounts Payable: Help manage accounts payable processes, including processing payments, reconciling accounts, and resolving any discrepancies. Monitor trackers and set up payments and forms for various taxes and fees.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Obtain W-9 forms and appropriate backup, as needed.
- Communication: Collaborate effectively with accounting team, project managers, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary financial information and address any accounting-related issues.
- Invoicing: Generate accurate and timely invoices for clients based on project milestones, change orders, and contract terms. Process, verify, and reconcile invoices.
- Vendor Management: Attend to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues.
- Record Keeping: Establish and maintain efficient record filing and retention of financial documents.
- General Accounting: Perform general accounting duties including data input, filing, scanning, and organization. Provide assistance with sending out mail filings.
- Data Entry: Enter and manage PO's to accurately ensure costs.
- Billing: Prepare AIA documents for monthly billing.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable with meeting deadlines.
- Manage and post volumes of financial data with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Construction industry experience a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to communicate internally with team members as well as externally with vendors and other service providers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree/experience in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred including familiarity with both general ledger and AP experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related field.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
