Accounting Assistant

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Support payroll management activities, including processing employee timesheets and ensuring accurate calculation of wages and benefits
- Conduct research and analysis to resolve discrepancies or issues in financial records
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks Desktop, or similar systems to perform tasks efficiently
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to data protection policies
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed

**Skills**:

- Strong understanding of financial services principles and practices
- Proficient in data entry with exceptional attention to detail
- Knowledge accounting principles and practices
- Familiarity with payroll management processes and regulations
- Solid mathematical skills for accurate calculations
- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks Desktop, or similar systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze information and propose solutions

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
