**As an Assistant Principal you**:

- Manage and coordinate a number of administrative roles that are critical to the success of the school.
- May be responsible for, depending on staffing and school needs, managing staffing and daily coverage; policy compliance; instructional training and mentoring of new and experienced staff; classroom instructional observation; management of students in academic or behavioral crisis; supervision and coordination of the Individual Education Plans (IEP) process; administering diagnostic, educational and state-mandated assessments; coordination of interim and report card grades; and supervision of assigned educational staff.
- Assume decision-making responsibilities in absence of School Principal.
- May be responsible for direct classroom instruction as needed

**Requires**:

- 3+ years of progressively more responsible experience in a special education setting (i.e. knowledge of techniques of behavior management, special education teaching techniques and methodologies, supervisory and administrative duties, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills to work cooperatively and effectively with a wide array of professionals in helping to develop treatment and educational goals and strategies, and to interact with students with autism.
